Youth for Christ Australia – part of its “What’s Normal?” campaign 31 August 2024

Youth for Christ Australia – part of its “What’s Normal?” campaign

one-day online webinar on the biblical view of porn, sex, dating and identity.

Saturday, 31 August 2024

“Going There” is a FREE online conference

For youth leaders, pastors, parents, grandparents and young Christians will equip you with biblical insights to foster vital conversations on these crucial topics.

Our young people, in particular, need guidance from people who can talk sensitively about these topics with confidence and compassion. If they cannot find answers in the Church, then they may search in other places.

This year’s speakers include Laura Wolsley (What’s Normal? founder), Paul Ninnes (Real Talk founder), Daniel and Elles Maddry (Moral Revolution directors), Allan Myer (author of Valiant Man), Cindy McGarvie (Youth for Christ national director), Patricia Weerakoon (sexologist and author) and Paul and Mikaela Bedwell (What’s Normal? director).

Summary:

What an encouraging contribution to the ministry of prayer.

The book ‘For His Glory’ by Lilian is a very personal and relevant discussion on not only the need for constant prayer but also the need for biblical forgiveness, suffering and healing.

This is not just any ordinary book but rather it is a daily reminder of the need for all of us to live out 1 Peter 3:15 and so to be ready to ‘give an answer’ for the hope that we have in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Lilian has managed to bring together the essential requirements for Christians, and indeed non-Christinas, who wish to live out a biblical worldview.

This book is by my bedside table constantly.

Theme
This year’s conference theme is ‘Journey With.’ Our goal is to encourage leaders to walk the journey of ministry in groups rather than in isolation and to invite the next generation of leaders to begin to live out their calling as ministers of the gospel. Tammy Preston will be sharing about journeying intergenerationally in our Churches.
Ruth Powell will be sharing insight from National Church Life Survey (NCLS Research) for effective Next Generations Ministry.

Elective Speakers
The conference features an opportunity to choose electives that suit your ministry focus and interests. There will be Children, Youth and Young Adults specific sessions along with other general topics to choose from. Religious Educators Training Day June 5 at PLC Burwood

Dear friends in education,

We pass on an invitation from Chris Mulherin (ISCAST Executive Director), to AARE members and colleagues to the following training day. Trevor is a UK expert, with a wealth of experience.

The blurb on the flyer reads as follows (with more details here on the TryBooking site):

Our students live in an age when the notion of truth seems to be out of fashion, particularly when it comes to religion. Diversity rules. This presents a huge challenge for Christian schools. Many Christian scholars have, over the years, used the notion of worldview to negotiate the relationship between truth and diversity. In this session Trevor will introduce the ideas of worldview and critical realism as a robust foundation for education in Christian schools.

Blessings & Joy

Faith Values Webinar hosted by Dr. Dave Benson, Thursday 23rd May 2024

Registration click link here

Detail:

join the: Faith Values Webinar hosted by Dr. Dave Benson from the UK to explore the following question:

“How can Christians serve an education system well for it to flourish in a more secular and multicultural age?”

Dave is a leading thinker and researcher on the role of faith in 21st-Century western culture. Formerly a high school teacher, then lecturer at Malyon Theological College in Brisbane, Australia, he now heads up the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity’s work for Culture & Discipleship.

His mission is to cultivate disciples with wisdom for the way of Christ in a post-Christendom culture. His 2016 Ph.D project entitled ‘Schools, Scripture and Secularisation’ considers the telos of competing curricular visions and the place of sacred texts in secular education.

Herbert Um, of (FaithValues.org) will also be sharing an update on their progress to develop GRE curriculum resources for their pilot in Victorian Public Schools.

Don’t miss out on this valuable opportunity to learn more about how we as Christians can best serve our education system in today’s secular and multicultural setting.
