International Baccalaureate (IB)

Integrating Faith and Global Education

IB are hosting a faith-based webinar on 28 May 2025, aimed at Catholic school leaders across Australia and Southeast Asia. ANY SCHOOL CAN participate, applying the Professional Development into your context and learning environment.

Endorsement and participation encouragement:

Christina Douglas says,

“I am the National Vice President of the Australian Association for Religious Education, and as I am the person on the AARE National Board with the most International Baccalaureate (IB) experience,  let me bring IB to your attention. There are advantages aligning with other organisations in regards to Religious Education in schools. As professionals, we really only benefit from the alliance with IB – a respected and credible globally recognised organisation. I think it is appropriate that all our various denominational member schools and colleges have the opportunity to recieve what IB contribute, something the AARE actively goes about finding and promoting to our members, noting that I am currently working at PLC Presbyterian Ladies College.”

AARE Year of Care Invitation to Pray participate in March Calendar

March 2025 has been chosen as the Month of Prayer

March 2025 has been chosen as the Month of Prayer. We encourage you to nominate a day in March to offer prayer, and feel free to share the intention of your prayer. Our goal is to have every day of March dedicated to prayer, whether by individuals or groups.

UPDATE: The Month of Prayer is filled up with something or someone to prayer for or with every day.

BUT MORE CAN BE ADDED … So keep the contributions coming!

Here are some ideas to inspire your prayer efforts:

  • A private prayer in your heart
  • Gathering with friends or colleagues to pray
  • A class or school-wide prayer
  • A prayer intention for a gathering prayer meeting
  • A special prayer or a portion of a worship service
  • Inviting friends and colleagues to a prayer breakfast

Together, let’s make March a month of spiritual unity and support for those who bring light, care, and faith into our schools.

Let us come together in prayer, asking for strength, guidance, and wisdom for those who serve. May they be filled with peace and renewed energy to continue their important work, always remembering the profound impact they have on the lives of those they serve. Through prayer, we can uplift and empower these everyday heroes in our schools.

In every school, there are dedicated individuals who shine as beacons of hope, guidance, and compassion — our school chaplains and religious educators. They play a vital role in nurturing the spiritual, emotional, and moral development of students, offering a safe space for reflection, support, and understanding.

These devoted individuals often face challenges that go beyond the classroom. They provide comfort in moments of struggle, joy in times of celebration, and wisdom when uncertainty arises. Now more than ever, our chaplains and religious educators need our prayers. As they pour their hearts into fostering environments of faith and care, they are confronted with the pressures of modern life and the complexities of their roles.

In response to this need, the Australian Association for Religious Education invites individuals, groups, schools, churches and associations to dedicate a day of prayer for chaplains and religious educators in our communities — or to pray for someone special to you – and nominate that day through the link or QR Code below.
